Yeast Propagation Reactors

Yeast Propagation Reactors

It is in these patented reactors that yeast propagation takes place—a process that allows us to obtain a much higher quantity of yeast (we multiply the cell count by at least 10x). This results not only in significant savings on purchased yeast, but also in time savings during harvest, improved traceability, better inoculum control, and more reliable fermentations—delivering fresher, cleaner profiles.

At LEV2050, specialists in industrial microbiology innovation, we want to help you achieve the best possible results from your raw material: grapes. You will also have access to a mobile app that guides you through the process—so you’re never on your own.

As you may remember, we previously explained what yeasts are. Now we’ll explain what our yeast propagation reactors are all about.

BR-LEV-LC Reactors

With our patented, automated BR-LEV-LC yeast bioreactors, you can propagate yeasts, lactic acid bacteria, and perform lees stirring (bâtonnage).

With these systems, you will quickly notice the following improvements:

  • Improved wine quality by inoculating new generations of fully healthy cells, enhancing aroma and structure.
  • Fully automated equipment for better and easier process traceability.
  • Greater control and fermentation security in inoculum production, maximizing viability and vitality.
  • Significant savings in yeast costs thanks to the propagation process, improving winery yields.

BR-CV Reactors

Our patented BR-CV yeast reactor models handle the propagation of yeasts and lactic acid bacteria, lees stirring, and the automated, controlled adaptation of yeast to ethanol for the second fermentation—ideal for sparkling wines.

Additional benefits include:

  • Enhanced organoleptic profile by working with healthy yeasts.
  • Greater automation, traceability, and reproducibility, since yeast propagation and ethanol adaptation are automated and controlled.
  • Increased cell concentration to more than 200 million cells/mL.
  • Increased cell viability, even with maintenance periods of up to five days after pied de cuve generation.
  • Fermentation security.

Process automation

Now that you know the yeast reactors available to you, we’d like to highlight additional services we offer—such as plant automation and custom solutions to client needs and challenges—using cutting-edge technology while respecting industry standards.

We provide everything from simple production control to comprehensive command-and-control stations, as well as camera systems for production or surveillance. We deliver full commissioning and work to integrate our systems and technologies into daily operations as smoothly as possible—connecting to existing systems or implementing new solutions.
