Article in “La Razón” newspaper
On March 13th we had the pleasure of appearing in the newspaper “La Razón”, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of LEV2050.
Our company was awarded with the prize for “best innovation in industrial microbiology”. We are very proud of it!

What is this article about?
In this article, David García, CEO of LEV2050, talks about our company.
He tells us how he came up with the creation of LEV2050, from its origins as a PhD at the University of Navarra using PCR techniques so present nowadays to the family influence in the fields of oenology and viticulture.
The article looks at the continued growth of industrial microbiology, as well as the rise of our company, being key in demonstrating the fundamental role of Non-Saccharomyces yeasts, present in the studies of autochthonous yeasts with which the company began its journey.
What was not common then, is today a more “trendy” topic in which LEV2050 already has more than 10 years of experience, offering services of selection of their own micro-organisms as well as producing them customised for each client, according to their needs.
Moreover, thanks to the effort and innovation carried out in LEV2050, we have not only managed to innovate within the wine sector, but we have also been able to enter other sectors such as the meat, bakery, dairy, brewery, cider, probiotic, biocontrol or biofertilisation sectors.
In 2015 we started producing patented bioreactors for yeast and bacteria multiplication. They also carry out the battonage of lees, they generate pure mannoprotein and can form fully automated “pied de cuve” for sparkling wine tirage.
All this has led LEV2050 to grow considerably, entering in markets in countries such as Portugal, Argentina, Chile, France or Italy, as well as obtaining international recognitios through the H2020 award granted by the European Comission. A project with the name ECOBIOMASS, under the slogan “being unique is no longer expensive, now it is the time”.
